YARMOUTH — Jon Wheeler scored five goals Saturday to lead Scarborough to a 12-5 victory against North Yarmouth Academy in a schoolboy lacrosse game.

The Red Storm (7-1) led 3-2 after the first quarter, then used a 6-1 run in the second quarter to make it 9-2 at halftime

Tim Millett and Jacob Scammon had a goal and an assist each for NYA (3-4).

MASSABESIC 18, BONNY EAGLE 5: Jake MacDougall, Stephen Chaves, and Jake Desrochers each had three goals as the Mustangs (5-2) cruised past the Scots (0-6) at Standish.

Jordan Levesque had two goals and six assists, and Pat Wyman added two goals and four assists for Massabesic.

FALMOUTH 13, BRUNSWICK 1: Zach Alexander scored four goals as the Yachtsmen (7-0) downed the Dragons (3-5) at Falmouth.

Nick Bachman and Willy Sipperly added three goals each for Falmouth.

THORNTON ACADEMY 16, CONY 0: Thomas Abbott had four goals and three assists to lead the Golden Trojans (5-2) past the Rams (0-7) at Augusta.

Chris Dolewa added three goals and an assist, and Cory Dion had a goal and four assists. Brett Levasseur and Jeremy Sylvain combined for eight saves for the shutout.

FREEPORT 14, LINCOLN ACADEMY 3: Evan Hench had five goals and four assists, and Alex Sturtevant made 19 saves to lead the Falcons (5-3) past the Eagles (2-5) at Freeport.

Galen Simmons added three goals for the Falcons. Hans Pope, Griff Breer and Thomas Provencher each chipped in two.

GREELY 16, EDWARD LITTLE 0: Cooper Allen scored four goals, and Paul Witte and Matt Ricker each had three for the Rangers (4-3), who took a 9-0 halftime lead and beat the Red Eddies (0-6) at Cumberland.

MARSHWOOD 13, NOBLE 0: Justin Hockney had three goals and an assist as the Hawks (3-4) shut out the Knights (1-6) at North Berwick.

Jeff Hatheway added two goals and two assists. Austin Hale also scored twice.

SOUTH PORTLAND 18, OAK HILL 4: Harrison Keithly had six goals and five assists for the Red Riots (5-3), who took a 9-0 second-quarter lead and beat the Raiders (2-5) at South Portland.

Michael Salvatore added three goals and one assist.

WAYNFLETE 17, CAMDEN HILLS 2: Henry Cleaves scored four goals and Jack Cutler had three as the Flyers (6-2) beat the Windjammers (1-6) at Portland.

Chris Burke and Matt Butler each added two goals and two assists for Waynflete. Max Mercier scored both goals for Camden Hills.

WINDHAM 10, LAKE REGION 6: Pat Pearson had seven goals and an assist, and the Eagles (3-4) used a 7-4 run in the second half to down the Lakers (1-5) at Naples.

Daniel St. Peter chipped in a goal and two assists, and Keegan Nee finished with 18 saves for Windham.

YARMOUTH 10, CHEVERUS 4: Bart Gallagher scored three goals and set up another to lead the Clippers (5-2) past the Stags (2-6) at Yarmouth.

BASEBALL

CHEVERUS 7, MARSHWOOD 1: Louie DiStasio and Nic Lops each hit two-run singles during a six-run second inning as the Stags (8-1) pulled away from the Hawks (6-3) at South Berwick.

Harry Ridge pitched a three-hitter with seven strikeouts and two walks.

DEERING 11, WINDHAM 2: Nick Colucci went 3 for 3 with a double, a triple and four RBI, and John Miranda added three hits and two RBI to help the Rams (8-1) down the Eagles (4-4) at Portland.

Sam Balzano pitched a four-hitter with seven strikeouts for Deering, which scored twice in the fifth inning to go up 4-2, then added seven in the sixth.

THORNTON ACADEMY 7, PORTLAND 4: Alex Newton had two RBI as the Trojans (5-4) defeated the Bulldogs (4-5) at Portland.

Dillon Dunbar had seven strikeouts for the win and added two hits at the plate.

WAYNFLETE 8, SACOPEE VALLEY 1: Charlie Laprade struck out nine and held the Hawks (0-9) to four hits and a walk to lead the Flyers (5-1) at Portland.

Laprade also went 3 for 4 with a double, two stolen bases, two runs and an RBI. Noah Aronson added a hit, two stolen bases, two runs and good defense at second base.

GORHAM 5, NOBLE 4: Mark Ridgeway stole second base, then scored on a throwing error in the seventh inning as the Rams (2-7) edged the Knights (1-8) at Gorham.

Justin Roy made his first varsity start for the Rams and threw five innings of four-hit ball.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY, TRAIP ACADEMY SPLIT: Alan Brown knocked in Eli Leavitt to break a 7-7 tie in the eighth inning and help North Yarmouth Academy (6-2) take a 9-7 win over Traip Academy (7-4) in the first game at Kittery.

Mark McKenney hit a two-run homer and pitched a two-hitter to help the Rangers take a 12-3 win in Game 2. Tyler Doucette chipped in two hits and three RBI. The game was called in the top of the sixth due to darkness.

BIDDEFORD 11, BONNY EAGLE 9: The Tigers (7-2), led by Nate McKeown with a two-run homer, scored five runs in the first inning and five in the sixth to edge the Scots (1-8) at Biddeford.
