PORTLAND — A price-monitoring website says the average retail gasoline price in Maine has risen 0.3 cent per gallon in the past week, but it’s still under $4.

MaineGasPrices.com says Sunday’s average statewide price in Maine was $3.97 per gallon. That’s a bit higher than the national average, which also increased 0.3 cent per gallon in the last week to $3.93 per gallon.

Including the rise in gas prices in Maine during the past week, prices Sunday were $1.07 per gallon higher than they were on the same day a year ago, and 16.3 cents per gallon higher than a month ago.
