The magazine featuring the first Mainer to claim the title of Playboy centerfold is now on newsstands.

With the arrival of the June issue of Playboy, Mei-Ling Lam, a graduate of Nokomis High School and a resident of Clinton, becomes the first Playmate to hail from Maine.

Her pictorial spread, titled “Miss June Holds Court” celebrates her love of the Boston Celtics. The selection of photos includes two candids of her in the crowd at a Celtics game.

“I love the Celtics, period, because there’s nothing like them and their fans,” Lam said in a prepared statement. “The atmosphere is absolutely electric during games.”

Lam, 27, was Miss Teen Maine USA in 2001 and placed 12th in the national pageant, which aired on CBS. Since then, she has attended Husson College and modeled for companies such as New Balance and Hasbro.

Later this week, Lam will be in Las Vegas to promote the magazine. She’ll host the Playboy Comedy Show at The Lounge at the Palms Casino Resort from May 20 to 21 and will autograph the magazine at the The Playboy Store in Caesars Forum Shops on May 21.
