Two school districts in York County are asking voters to weigh in on school budgets for the fiscal year starting July 1.

Regional School Unit 23 plans a public hearing at 6 p.m. Tuesday to discuss the proposed $43.7 million school budget, which is about a 3 percent increase over the current budget. Registered voters in Saco, Old Orchard Beach and Dayton are invited to weigh in on the proposal.

The hearing is to be held in the cafeteria at Saco Middle School. A referendum to finalize the budget is scheduled for June 7.

Regional School Unit 21 is asking residents of Kennebunk, Kennebunkport and Arundel to vote on its $35.7 million proposed district budget on Tuesday.

Voters also will weigh in on a $1.2 million buyout from the district’s contract with Thornton Academy Middle School, cost sharing within the district and renovation funds for the middle and high schools.
