For kids wondering what it’s like to get behind the wheel of a monster truck, or what a pilot uses to make a helicopter fly, Lebanon was the place to be Saturday.

The Lebanon Community Festival, organized by the town’s Fire and Rescue Department, provided the goods: a police cruiser, a LifeFlight helicopter, an ambulance, a firetruck, construction equipment, race cars and a host of other vehicles for kids and adults to explore.

The event also brought the community together to support one of its own: 4-year-old Nicole Purington, who is being treated for cancer. There was a 5K road race to raise funds for Purington and her family, along with a benefit barbecue that also helped cover the cost of the festival.
