YORK — A Rochester, N.H., man was charged today with drunken driving after crashing his car on Cider Hill Road in York.

Sgt. Thomas Baran said 37-year-old Forrest Rollins of Echo Brook Road was charged after his car, a 1994 Mazda Protege, went off the road, landed in a ditch, and rolled on its side.

Rollins was extricated by emergency personnel. Witnesses said they saw Rollins operating erratically at a high rate of speed just prior to the crash, which was reported at 2:46 p.m.

He was transported by ambulance to York Hospital for treatment. Rollins is scheduled to appear in York District Court on Sept. 8.
