GORHAM — The town is celebrating the 275th anniversary of its founding with a four-day festival that opens this afternoon with amusement park rides and musical acts.
The rides will be open from 4-9 p.m. today. A fiddle jam starts at 5 p.m. and is followed by the Don Roy Trio at 6 p.m.
The opening ceremonies for the Gorham Founder’s Festival are scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday.
Watermelon and pie eating contests, historical tours, fireworks and a magician are among the attractions of the festival, which ends Monday with a Memorial Day parade at 11 a.m.
