PORTLAND — Starter Michael Lee pitched a shutout for 6 2/3 innings, but the effort was not enough for the Portland Sea Dogs.

The Trenton Thunder topped Portland 5-2 thisafternoon before a sold-out Hadlock Field crowd of 7,368.

Lee left the game with a 2-0 lead, wth two outs and no one on in the seventh inning. Reliever Cesar Cabral gave up a single and a Cody Johnson two-run home run in the seventh, and three more runs in the eighth.

The Sea Dogs also lost third baseman Will Middlebrooks to an hand injury, suffered while fielding a hard bouncer in the seventh inning. He was still being evaluated after the game.

Chih-Hsien Chiang homered for the Sea Dogs. Jon Hee had two hits, including an RBI double.

Portland dropped to 14-33 and will face Trenton (30-19) again at 1 p.m. today at Hadlock.
