Bethel:

Parade starts at 11 a.m. on Main Street and ends at the town common, where Maine Secretary of State Charles E. Summers Jr. will speak at noon. 

Dresden: 57th Memorial Day Service, 11 a.m. at the flagpole on the parade ground at 1761 Pownalborough Court House. A free pancake breakfast will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Free tours of the court house will be offered after the service.

Falmouth: Parade starts at 10  a.m. from American Legion Post #164, 65 Depot Road, proceeds to Foreside Road and continues south on Foreside Road to Pine Grove Park, where ceremonies will feature guest speaker Sen. Susan M. Collins and performances by the middle and high school bands and choruses.

Old Orchard Beach: Parade starts from The Ballpark area at 1 p.m. with lineup at noon. An observance at Memorial Park follows with guest Gov. Paul Lepage. After the parade and observance, there will be a memorial for Nat Golzbein, “in celebration of a life well lived,” at Lindbergh’s Landing on the Pier, where there will be an announcement about a program being established in Golzbein’s name.

Portland: Parade starts at 10:30 a.m. from Longfellow Square and proceeds to Monument Square. Military aircraft sponsored by the Air Force have scheduled a flyover at 10:45 a.m. Guest speakers include U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree, City Councilor and representative of Sen. Olympia Snowe Cheryl Leeman, Cheverus High School President and Parade Chaplain the Rev. William Campbell and Portland Mayor Nicholas Mavodones. A wreath-laying ceremony will be held at the monument after the speeches. The parade is sponsored by the City of Portland and the Harold T. Andrews Post 17, American Legion,

The Portland Police Department will unveil the Portland Police Memorial Plaque at a noon ceremony at the department’s courtyard at 109 Middle St. The plaque honors the 16 officers who lost their lives while serving the city.

South Portland: Parade starts at 10:30 a.m. at Southern Maine Community College at the end of Broadway and continues onto Ocean Avenue, past City Hall to the Roundabout, where there will be a short ceremony. At noon, there will be a wreath-laying ceremony at the public boat landing.
Springvale: Ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. at Southern Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, 83 Stanley Road. Similar events are planned at the veterans’ cemeteries in Augusta and in Caribou.

Westbrook: Parade at 10 a.m. starts from the corner of Longfellow Street and New Gorham Road and continues along Main Street to Riverbank Park, where there will be a ceremony.

Windham: Parade starts at 9:15 a.m. followed by a ceremony at the high school at 10 a.m. with guest speaker Maine Secretary of State Charlie Summers. An open house at Windham Veterans Center begins at noon.

National Moment of Remembrance is at 3 p.m. The “Moment” was established by an act of Congress to honor those who died in service to our country. All citizens are asked to pause for a moment of reflection and rededication in memory of our nation’s fallen.
