OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Rob Macdonald’s fifth-inning single down the third-base line keyed a five-run rally as the Capers ended the regular season with a 12-7 win over top-ranked Greely during a Western Class B baseball game at The Ballpark.

Cape Elizabeth (12-4) came to bat in the bottom of the fifth trailing 3-2.

Cam Brown led off the inning with a double.

Jack Barber followed with an infield single and Kyle Danielson drew a walk to load the bases for Macdonald.

Brown and Barber scored on Macdonald’s single for a 4-3 Cape lead.

An out later, Pat Tyler reached on an infield single, with Danielson scoring the third run when the ball was mishandled.

After a walk, pinch-hitter Seth Dobieski grounded into a forceout at second, but the relay to first was thrown away to allow the final two runs of the inning.

Brown, who also had an RBI single, had two of Cape’s six hits. Bailey Train drove in two runs for Greely.

Matt Labbe stroked two singles for the Rangers (13-3), with an RBI and a run scored.

THORNTON ACADEMY 11, GORHAM 3: Jonathan Dupee and Sam Canales each had three hits to lead the Golden Trojans (10-6) over the Rams (5-11) at Saco.

The Trojans scored eight runs in the second inning on six singles, two walks and a hit-batter. Dupee added a three-run double in the third.

Dillon Dunbar (4-1) scattered seven hits, walked one and struck out three.

Alex Yankowsky had two hits and an RBI for Gorham.

MARSHWOOD 8, BONNY EAGLE 1: Robert Jones had three hits and the visiting Hawks (11-5) scored five runs in the sixth to beat the Scots (5-11) at Standish.

The Hawks strung together five straight hits.

Luke Fernandes had two hits, including an RBI triple in the first. Fernandes also hit a sacrifice fly for another run in the sixth.

Tyler Pratt also had two hits for the Hawks.

Evan Amell and Matt Burnell had two hits for Bonny Eagle.

WAYNFLETE 12, SACOPEE VALLEY 4: Noah Aronson had a pair of RBI singles, and also scored twice, as the Flyers (8-4) used a 10-run third inning to take a 10-3 lead over the Hawks (0-16) in Portland.

Luke Jeton laced a two-run triple during the rally, and also scored.

Joey Schnier pitched a complete-game four hitter for Waynflete, with eight strikeouts.

BIDDEFORD 3, KENNEBUNK 2: Tyler Audie hit a three-run double and pitched five innings of shut-out ball to lead the Tigers (10-6) past the Rams (3-13) in Kennebunk.

Audie’s two-out shot into left-center scored Chris Jones, Scott Callahan and Taylor Reuillard and gave the Tigers a 3-0 lead.

Audie made that lead stand up through the fifth.

However Ethan Drigotas singed home Taylor Landry and Nick Emmons scored on an error as Kennebunk reached the Biddeford bullpen for two runs in the sixth.

PORTLAND 6, SCARBOROUGH 1: Caleb Fraser hit a two-run double in the first inning and was the winning pitcher for the Bulldogs (6-10) against the visiting Red Storm (11-5) at Hadlock Field.

Fraser allowed four hits and five walks, striking out three.

Kyle Reichert had a two-run double in the third inning when the Bulldogs scored four runs.

WINDHAM 12, SANFORD 2: Cody Dube, Dillon Taylor and Nick Burton knocked in two runs each to lead the Eagles (8-8) past the Redskins (2-14) in five innings at Sanford.

MASSABESIC 8, NOBLE 0: Hunter Duncan tossed a two-hitter and scored the winning run as the Mustangs (4-12) beat the Knights (2-14) in North Berwick.

Duncan reached on an error in the first, stole second and scored the first run of the game on Josh Langevin’s single.

Duncan made that run stand up as the winner, striking out 12 and walking no one in the complete-game shutout.

FOREST HILLS SWEEPS RICHMOND 1-3: Dylan McNally struck out 16 in the second game of a doubleheader to lead the Tigers to a 9-3 win and a sweep of the Bobcats in Richmond.

Forest Hills won the first game 2-1 behind Evan Worster, who allowed four hits and struck out seven.

Tyler Lawrence singled home the winning run as the Tigers scored twice in the seventh inning.

Lawrence also threw out the tying runner at the plate in the bottom of the inning.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 9, BELFAST 6: John Murray’s deep homer to left in the bottom of the seventh gave the Panthers (8-7) a victory over Belfast (5-4) in Waldoboro.

LINCOLN ACADEMY 3, ROCKLAND 1: Brandon Reilly pitched a three-hitter, hit an RBI single and also a home run to lead the Eagles (12-4) over Rockland (10-5) in Newcastle.

Alex Cosgrove singled home Bo McLain, and Reilly drove home Dalton Leeman for a 2-0 lead in the third. Lucas Morrill’s home run brought the Tigers to within 2-1 in the sixth, but Reilly countered with his homer in the bottom of the inning.

LACROSSE

FALMOUTH 19, FREEPORT 3: Mitch Tapley finished with seven goals and three assists, Charlie Fay added three goals and Brendan McDonnell chipped in two goals and five assists to lead the Yachtsmen (11-1) over the Falcons (6-6) at Freeport.

Evan Hench scored a pair of goals for Freeport.

MESSALONSKEE 17, OXFORD HILLS 2: Nate DelGiudice scored five goals to become the school’s single-season record-holder for goal scoring as the Eagles (11-1) rolled past the Vikings (6-6) at Oakland.
