AUGUSTA — As they work toward adjournment, Maine lawmakers continue to send Gov. Paul LePage stacks of bills to be signed into law.
LePage signed more than a dozen of them Wednesday covering an array of topics from lead testing to privacy.
One of the bills, LD 300, allows health care providers that dispense benefits from the Women, Infants and Children Special Supplemental Food Program, and Head Start facilities, to perform in-office blood lead analyses.
Another new law, LD 634, will allow applicants for hunting or fishing licenses to indicate that their e-mail address must be kept confidential.
The Legislature also enacted a bill, LD 1548, providing a legal mechanism for Maine courts to limit a person’s rights if the person is found not competent to stand trial or not guilty by reason of mental incapacity.
