FALMOUTH  — A Maine Turnpike entrance ramp is reopening nearly a year after being shut down for a construction project.

Turnpike officials say the entry ramp from the Falmouth Spur to the toll highway’s northbound lanes will reopen this afternoon, five days ahead of the targeted opening date.

The ramp was shut down to allow crews to repair a nearby bridge on the turnpike over the Presumpscot River.

Construction work is continuing on the bridge, with the $6.5 million project scheduled for completion in November.
