FRYEBURG – Michelle Roscoe led off the bottom of the seventh inning with a walk and scored on a pinch-hit double by Abby Brown to lift top-ranked Fryeburg Academy to a 4-3 victory over ninth-seeded Greely in a Western Class B softball quarterfinal Friday.

Sarah Harriman struck out nine, walked three and allowed one earned run while pitching a five-hitter for Fryeburg (17-0), which will face fourth-seeded Lincoln Academy at noon today.

Ashley Watkins had an RBI single for the Raiders.

Greely (10-8) tied the game with a three-run fifth inning that included an RBI single by Danielle Cimino. Cimino also pitched a complete game, striking out four and walking four while allowing five hits.

SOUTH PORTLAND 11, SANFORD 0: Alexis Bogdanovich pitched a one-hitter as the Red Riots (17-0) defeated the Redskins (9-8) in a Western Class A quarterfinal at South Portland.

Bogdanovich struck out 10 and took a no-hitter into the fifth, when Christine Tovey got the only hit for Sanford.

Bogdanovich also went 3 for 4 with two RBI. Katlin Norton hit a three-run homer and Amanda Linscott blasted a two-run shot. Danica Gleason added three RBI.

OAK HILL 8, CAPE ELIZABETH 4: Kortni Michaud and Becca Tucci each had two hits to lead the third-seeded Raiders (13-4) past the No. 6 Capers (10-7) in a Western Class B quarterfinals at Wales.

Alexis Priest and Alyssa Rouleau each had a double for Oak Hill, which built a 6-2 lead after three innings. The Raiders will host No. 7 Wells at 2 p.m. today.

RICHMOND 17, FOREST HILLS 0: Danica Hurley reached base five times and scored four runs as the top-ranked Bobcats (16-0) earned a spot in the Western Class D final, beating the Tigers (6-9) in a five-inning game at Richmond.

The Bobcats scored three runs in the first inning, five in the second, one in the third, and eight in the fourth. Lindsy Hoopingarner had a three-run double.
