FARMINGTON — Four members of the Earth First! environmental group are going on trial for blocking the entrance to a western Maine wind power construction site.

The Sun Journal says the four people charged with trespassing last July day are scheduled to go on trial Monday in Franklin County Superior Court in Farmington.

The four were part of a larger protest where several dozen demonstrators gathered in protest of TransCanada’s construction of 22 wind turbines on the ridge of Kibby Mountain.

The demonstration was held the day before the Maine Land Use Regulation Commission met in Bangor to deliberate another TransCanada proposal to build 15 more turbines on a nearby mountain.
