BOOTHBAY HARBOR — Lots of people like to spend their summers in Maine. But few can say they’ve been doing it longer than Elizabeth Jones.

Jones, who’s 95, hasn’t missed a summer getaway to Maine since 1946. She arrived on June 18 for a three-week stay that marks her 66th consecutive vacation at Linekin Bay Resort in Boothbay Harbor.

Jones, of Worcester, Mass., uses walkers to get from her second-floor room to the ground floor where she enjoys meals and chats with staff.

There’s at least one well-known summer resident who’s been coming to Maine for longer. Former President George H.W. Bush, who’s 87, has been coming to Maine since he was a boy. The only exception was during World War II when he was a naval aviator.
