Maine motorists may soon have another way to display their loyalty to the New England Patriots.
The National Football League team unveiled a proposed specialty license plate Wednesday that features the Patriots logo. Similar plates are already offered in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

A total of 2,000 preorders are needed to bring it to the Maine legislature. Once the plate is approved, production could take up to a year.
The plates cost $35 in addition to regular registration fees, with $10 to benefit the Patriots Charitable Foundation.
