A 53-year-old motorcyclist suffered serious head injuries Friday afternoon in a collision with a car in Naples, police said.

Mark A. Jerome, whose address was not given, was flown to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston by Life Flight helicopter after preliminarly treatment at Bridgton Hospital and at the scene by emergency medical workers, said a statement today from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

Police said Jerome was riding east on Route 302 when he struck a 2001 Honda Civic being driven by Kim E. Rivet, 22, whose address was not given, as the Honda pulled onto the road from Bray’s Brew Pub shortly after 4 p.m. The collision catapulted Jerome and his bike into the path of a westbound 2002 Hyundai sedan, driven by Nicole E. Craig, 19, of Casco.

The sheriff’s office said it had no information today on Jerome’s condition.
