HARPSWELL — Maine lobstermen are wrapping up a weekend’s worth of racing with lobster boat races in Harpswell.
Lobstermen are competing for cash, prizes and bragging rights at today’s races. Another set of races were held Saturday in Searsport.
They are the sixth and seventh competitions in the summer-long series of races.
The races are action-packed contests that draw hundreds of spectators who watch from shore and boats that line the courses.
Previous races have taken place in Boothbay Harbor, Rockland, Jonesport, Searsport and Stonington. After this weekend, additional races are scheduled for Winter Harbor and Pemaquid before the season wraps up in Portland Harbor.
