PORTLAND – Sam Johnson hit his fourth home run of the playoffs as York advanced to the championship round of the state Little League 11-12 tournament Friday with a 10-2 victory over Old Town.

York will face Yarmouth at 10 a.m. today needing a win to force a final at 1 p.m. Sunday.

NEWPORT 11, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 5: Rand Ravness homered and had three RBI as the Gulls (26-13) defeated the Raging Tide (8-32) at Newport, R.I.

Kyle Stearns had two hits for OOB and Thomas Bourdon knocked in two runs.

LACONIA 4, SANFORD 2: Dylan Kelly’s three-run homer in the third inning lifted the Muskrats (17-22) past the Mainers (18-20) at Sanford.

Mike Montville and Eric Hailer each knocked in a run for Sanford and Justin Leisenheimer had three hits to raise his average to .413.

JUNIOR LEAGUE

BANGOR 2, ELLSWORTH 0: Justin Courtney shut out Ellsworth on three hits and no walks while striking out eight to lead host Bangor to a win at the state tournament.

ELLSWORTH 6, SOUTH PORTLAND 2: Charlie Libby pitched a three-hitter and struck out 10 to lead Ellsworth past South Portland in the state tournament at Bangor.

SENIOR LEAGUE

SCARBOROUGH 7, WALDO COUNTY 6: Eric Pemberton doubled home Matt Haril to break a 6-6 tie in the fifth inning and give Scarborough a state tournament win at Bangor.

Will Fowler hit a two-run single as Scarborough scored four in the fourth to take a 6-5 lead.

COASTAL 9, SCARBOROUGH 5: Loriman Locke had two hits and two RBI for Coastal, which scored seven runs in the first two innings and rolled to a state tournament victory.
