PORTLAND — Drivers are being warned about an impending change in traffic patterns on Tukey’s Bridge.

The Maine Department of Transportation announced tonight that it will reopen the closed northbound center lane on the bridge Friday night and will close a lane along the side of the bridge.

Construction crews may have to reduce that stretch of Interstate 295 to a single lane of travel for a short period of time while barriers are moved around. The changes will be made sometime after 9 p.m. Friday.

The DOT reminds motorists that shifting travel lanes and temporary ramp closures associated with repair work on the Interstate will continue to require that they pay attention to warning signs and travel alerts.
