HAMPDEN — Maine game wardens say a recreational boater has found the body of a woman who was the subject of a search on the Penobscot River.

Wardens today recovered the body of 65-year-old Juliet Kellogg Markowsky after the boater alerted authorities. Her body was discovered 3½ miles downstream from the point she was last seen in Hampden.

Wardens had been looking for Markowsky since she was reported missing Wednesday evening.

The body was being transported today to the state Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.
