AUGUSTA — Forty companies have been named to a list of the best places to work in Maine.

The Maine State Council of the Society for Human Resources Management released the list this morning and said companies will be told how they rank in each category at an awards banquet on Oct. 11 in Lewiston.

The list was compiled by The Best Companies Group based on an evaluation of the companies’ employee policies and procedures and employee comments.

The 40, listed alphabetically, are:
