FRYEBURG — The airport in Fryeburg is getting a fuel system upgrade that will make it easier for the pilots of small jets and turboprop aircraft to land there.

North Conway businessman, pilot and airport board member Ed Bergeron tells WMWV-FM representatives of some of the businesses on the Route 16 strip in North Conway fly to the area through Fryeburg.

And he says some children who attend summer camp in the area also fly via Fryeburg.

Having the additional fuel capacity in Fryeburg would mean pilots wouldn’t have to travel to Sanford or Portland to get fuel.

The new system should be in place by this fall.
