JACKMAN — The Maine Warden Service has identified a hiker who had a heart attack and died on Sally Mountain.

The warden service said 63-year-old Peter Goldberg of Mequon, Wis., had been hiking and picking blueberries with his wife Friday when authorities received a 911 call saying he was having a heart attack.

The couple had been longtime summer vacationers on Attean Pond in Jackman.

According to the warden service, Goldberg’s body was taken to Giberson Funeral Home in Bingham, where it will be examined.
