SULLIVAN — Maine State Police say one person is dead and two others injured following a head-on crash in Sullivan.
Sixty-two-year-old Sharon Rolfe, of Milbridge, was killed Tuesday when a westbound pickup crossed the center line of Route 1 and hit the Volkswagen Beetle she was driving. The driver of the pickup, 62-year-old George Rippere, of Naples, Fla., and a passenger in Rolfe’s car were taken to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth.
The Bangor Daily News reports that neither speed nor alcohol appear to have been factors in the wreck, which totaled both cars.
