WADE — Maine State Police charged two men with burglary and theft, accusing them of cutting and running off with $8,000 worth of electrical cords from farm machinery.

Police say a burglary was reported Thursday at the Turner Potato Farm in Wade. In addition to the machinery cords, extension cords also were taken off the walls.

A state trooper checking with a local metal recycling plant learned that a large amount of electrical copper had been turned in for scrap. That led to the arrest of Josh Doody of Washburn and Matthew Tardie of Ashland. Both are 21.
