HOLDEN — A baby is going to grow up with a unique listing on her birth certificate.

The birth certificate of Coral Anne Mae McAllister-Wallace lists the facility where she was born as “family vehicle.”

Coral was born Friday in the parking lot of a Holden convenience store, Her father was rushing her mother to the Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth, but the baby decided she didn’t want to wait that long.

Coral’s mother Mary Ellen McAllister-Wallace of Old Town says her husband was on the phone to the midwife when Coral appeared.

Emergency Medical Technician David Morrill was the first to arrive. He tells the Bangor Daily News the family was a lot calmer than he would have been.

Mother and daughter are doing fine.
