VIENNA — A Gardiner man, hospitalized since crashing his motorcycle on Townhouse Road Friday, has died.

Scott Hubbard, 45, died at the hospital on Sunday, said Sgt. Scott Taylor of the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Department.

Hubbard crashed his 2009 Harley Davidson shortly before 6:30 p.m., Friday as he was driving south on Townhouse Road, Taylor said.

Hubbard, who was not wearing a helmet, was alone on the motorcycle, Taylor said.

The motorcycle went off the side of the road.

“The vehicle appears to have flipped and ejected (Hubbard) off,” Taylor said. The motorcycle landed on top of Hubbard, Taylor said.

Police are unsure what caused Hubbard’s motorcycle to leave the road.

“It appears to be driver inattention,” Taylor said.
