PORTLAND — Two people face charges of trafficking in crack cocaine and heroin following their arrest in a Congress Street parking lot Wednesday night.
Agents with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency working with Portland and Westbrook police charged Carl Langston, 22, of South Portland and Carol Vining, 22, of Cumberland, police said.
Police seized a half-ounce of crack, 61 bags of heroin and $1,600. Police also found a loaded .40 caliber handgun in the glove box of the couple’s car. The couple was arrested at the 1100 block of Congress Street near the intersection with Park Avenue.
Langston is a convicted felon and is out on bail on a charge of domestic violence against another woman and so is not allowed to have a gun, police said.
Langston is being held on $100,000 bail and Vining on $50,000 pending arraignment on Friday.
