KENNEBUNK – Alex McLean scored both goals to power Marshwood to a 2-0 season-opening victory over Kennebunk in an SMAA boys’ soccer match Friday afternoon.

Steve Smith and Ryder Schumacher each had an assist. Jackson Towle made eight saves for the shutout.

NOBLE 4, BIDDEFORD 1: Four players each had a goal for the Knights in a win over the Tigers at Biddeford.

Adam Neubert, Josh Emard, Gordon Potter and Jake Emard scored for Noble.

Jake Emard set up brother Josh on his goal.

FREEPORT 7, LAKE REGION 0: Jack Dawe had two goals and three assists to propel the Falcons past the Lakers at Freeport.

Josh Weirich added a pair of goals and an assist. Zach Greene contributed a goal and an assist.

Freeport goalie Alex Campbell stopped two shots, including a penalty kick.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 7, TRAIP ACADEMY 0: Freshman DJ Nicholas had two goals as the Panthers blanked the Rangers at Yarmouth.

Ryan Rousseau added a goal and two assists. Duncan George, also a freshman, had a goal and assist.

NYA goalies Jeremy Sylvain and Austin Kidder combined for the shutout.

WAYNFLETE 9, A.R. GOULD 0: Paul Runyambo and Mitch Newlin each netted a pair of goals as the Flyers cruised past the Bears at South Portland.

Mohammad Suja added three assists for Waynflete.

Zander Majercik made two saves for the shutout.

A.R. Gould goalie Ben Ball had 16 saves.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 2, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Milos Mojokov scored in each half and Paul Dostie made three saves as the Raiders shut out the Patriots at Fryeburg.

MORSE 5, NOKOMIS 0: Michael Alvarez had a hat trick to lead the Shipbuilders to a win in Newport.

Cody Snyder added two goals, and Grady Madden and Duane Tardif combined to make 12 saves for Morse.

GORHAM 10, WESTBROOK 0: Connor Regan, Kyle Curley, and Spence Cowand scored two goals apiece as the Rams rolled past the Blue Blazes at Westbrook.

LINCOLN ACADEMY 3, OAK HILL 1: Sawyer Pinkham and Bo McLain each scored as the Eagles (1-0) took an early 2-0 lead against the Raiders (0-1) at Newcastle.

Devin Sherer chipped in with a goal.

HAMPDEN 1, MESSALONSKEE 0: John Meehan scored with 22 minutes left in the first half to give the Broncos a win over the Eagles at Hampden.

ERSKINE 7, SKOWHEGAN 0: Darrell St. Jean and Nick Kothman each scored twice to lead the Eagles to a win at Skowhegan.

MT. VIEW 9, GARDINER 0: Jake Simpson and Aaron Elkins each scored a pair of goals as the Mustangs beat the Tigers at Thorndike.
