BROOKLIN — Maine’s windjammer fleet will be on display for the vessels’ final gathering of the season.

The 25th annual WoodenBoat Sail-In this afternoon will feature more than a dozen of the schooners at WoodenBoat Publications, located on the waterfront in the Hancock County town of Brooklin.

Hosted by the Maine Windjammer Association, the event celebrates the tradition of working sailing vessels and gives spectators the opportunity to view the fleet before the season comes to an end on Columbus Day weekend. There’ll also be tours of WoodenBoat magazine and The WoodenBoat School, as well as music and food.

Eight of the windjammers have been designated as national historic landmarks.
