HART’S LOCATION, N.H. — New Hampshire Gov. John Lynch says Route 302 will reopen Saturday, more than a week ahead of schedule.

The highway was damaged by the remnants of Hurricane Irene last month. Lynch announced the highway’s opening today before joining tourism and transportation officials on a bus tour of the Kancamagus Highway.

Lynch said state transportation staff, private contractors and other state agencies worked to repair Route 302 and the Kancamagus Highway in time for fall foliage season.

He said their efforts mean the public can enjoy the breathtaking foliage views without having to deal with road closures.
