ROCKLAND – Adas Yoshuron Synagogue of Rockland has hired Rabbi Natan Margalit to serve as visiting rabbi for the coming year.

Margalit is a teacher at Hebrew College in Boston and the creator of Organic Torah. He was raised in Hawaii and ordained at the Jerusalem Seminary in 1990. In 2001 he earned a doctorate in Talmud from the University of California, Berkeley.

Margalit is director of Oraita, a program of continuing education for rabbis of Hebrew College; spiritual leader of the Greater Washington Coalition for Jewish Life, in western Connecticut; and co-founder of LoKo, a co-op for bringing local, kosher free-range poultry meat to the Boston area. He lives in Newton, Mass.. with his wife, Ilana, and two sons.

Margalit will be in Rockland at least one weekend a month and will officiate at regular services, festivals and celebrations.

Adas Yoshuron is an unaffiliated, all-inclusive synagogue located at 50 Willow St., Rockland. All services and events are open to the public. For more information, call 594-4523.
