PORTER — Authorities say a man has been found dead in his Oxford County home by members of the Maine State Police tactical squad.

Steve McCausland of the Maine Public Safety Department says the tactical team was called in today after federal investigators attempting to serve a search warrant heard a gunshot.

McCausland says tactical team members found the body of 30-year-old Gardner Halsey after entering his home in the town of Porter. He says it appears Halsey died from a self-inflicted wound.

The search was being conducted by the FBI, but no details were released.
