GRAY – Tim Lavallee scored two goals in the first half and Cape Elizabeth went on to a 3-1 victory against Gray-New Gloucester in a Western Maine Conference schoolboy soccer game Saturday.

Blake Barritt, who assisted on Lavallee’s second goal, increased the lead to 3-0 in the second half before Paul Fotter broke through for Gray-New Gloucester (4-1-1).

Bret Parker had eight saves for Cape Elizabeth. Spencer Harriman had three for Gray-New Gloucester (4-3-1).

YARMOUTH 2, FALMOUTH 1: Ryan Maguire and David Murphy scored second-half goals as the Clippers (5-2-1) came back from a 1-0 halftime deficit against Falmouth (4-1) at Yarmouth.

Murphy scored the winner on the rebound of a Sam Torres free kick with 6:20 remaining.

Grant Burfield scored for the Yachtsmen.

SOUTH PORTLAND 8, SANFORD 2: Nem Kaurin had four goals and an assist as the Red Riots (4-2-1), after allowing an early goal, scored eight straight and downed the Redskins (1-6) at South Portland.

Will Bushey added two goals, and Damjan Draskovic and Danny Fox also scored for South Portland.

Connor McGhee and Gabrial Zimmer answered for Sanford.

RICHMOND 8, BUCKFIELD 1: Peter Lorbeski scored three goals to lead the Bobcats (5-2-1) over the Bucks (3-4) at Richmond.

Nate Tribbett, Sam Lorbeski, Brian Snedeker, Cameron Emmons and Ben Carver also scored for Richmond.

Tyler Harrington had seven saves for Richmond; Calvin Downey had 11 for Buckfield.

MAINE CENTRAL INSTITUTE 2, NOKOMIS 1: Kristoffer Martinsen’s unassisted goal two minutes into overtime lifted the Huskies (3-4) over Nokomis (0-7) at Newport.

After Aron Smestad gave Nokomis a 1-0 lead from Cody Brawn, Ryan Engelhardt tied it with an unassisted goal in the second half.

Matt Lessard made 10 saves for MCI. Thomas Bachelder made six for Nokomis.

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 5, CARRABEC 2: Nick Trenholm had four goals and an assist as the Mustangs (4-3) beat Carrabec (0-6-1) at Monmouth.

Kyle Fletcher also scored and had two assists for Monmouth. Casey Clement chipped in with an assist, and Kasey Smith earned the win with three saves.

Isrial Davis and Hunter Williams scored for Carrabec. John Lyman had 17 saves.

FRIDAY’S GAME

GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 5, ISLESBORO 2: Adam Simpson scored twice and assisted on two goals as the Lions (3-4) beat the Eagles (1-3) in South Portland.
