LEWISTON — Police in Lewiston say a 19-year-old New York man is in custody after a stabbing on a city street.

Randall Wilson of Brooklyn, N.Y., was arrested Monday night and charged with elevated aggravated assault. He was ordered held on bail of more than $10,000.

The victim, a 20-year-old Lewiston man, was hospitalized with non-life threatening stab wounds to his upper body.

Police said the victim was walking with Wilson and another man when he was stabbed. Wilson and the second man fled and were arrested later at an apartment. The second man was also arrested.

Police Lt. Michael McGonagle tells the Sun Journal the stabbing appears to be the result of a verbal argument between Wilson and the victim.
