AUGUSTA — Dozens of Gov. Paul LePage’s nominees to Maine boards, commissions and judicial posts await likely Senate confirmation at a special legislative session.

The Republican governor’s nominees faced Senate confirmation votes today. Their committee endorsements in the days leading up to today’s session virtually assure confirmation of more than 90 LePage appointees.

Among the more prominent nominees is Patricia Aho as commissioner of the Department of Environmental Protection. Aho is a former State House lobbyist who represented such groups as the American Chemistry Council, Casella Waste Systems and Verso Paper.

Also up for confirmation is Eric Cioppa as superintendent of insurance, and Ann Robinson, who’s served as state Republican Party counsel and was part of LePage’s transition team, to the Maine Public Broadcasting Corp. board.
