ORONO – Pushaun Brown scored three touchdowns as the Maine football team upset No. 6 Delaware 31-17 in the Black Bears’ Colonial Athletic Association opener today at Alfond Stadium.
Maine’s defense intercepted Delaware quarterback Tim Donnelly four times, including two second-half interceptions by Vinson Givans and Jerron McMillian.
Brown rushed for more than 100 yards in his sixth consecutive game, finishing with 193 yards on 23 carries, while Derek Session had four receptions for 111 yards.
Andrew Pierce led Delaware (3-2, 1-1 CAA) with 120 yards on 24 carries.
Maine (3-1, 1-0 CAA) plays at James Madison at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Harrisonburg, Va.
