Navy Seamen Charles J. Rothbacher and Gage J. Simard have recently completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
Rothbacher is the son of Catherine Reed of Bowdoinham and is a 2009 graduate of Mt. Ararat High School, Topsham.
Simard is the son of Holly and Richard Simard of Freeport and is a 2011 graduate of Freeport High School.
The Retired Activities Office in Brunswick has closed. The volunteer staff is looking for no-cost space with the intention of reopening. In the interim, contact the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Retired Activities Office at 438-1868 or email PNS_RAO@comcast.net. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
