FARMINGTON — A former police officer has pleaded guilty to charges he sexually molested a Franklin County girl over a four-year period.
Thirty-nine-year-old Steven Goozey, of Westbrook, pleaded guilty in Franklin County Superior Court to 10 counts of unlawful sexual contact with a child under 12.
Goozey is facing up to 10 years in prison on each count.
Court records say the offenses occurred between June 2006 and May 2010.
Prosecutors say Goozey told the victim she would go to jail if she told anyone what happened. The Sun Journal says the girl told her mother in March because she didn’t want it to happen to her younger sister.
Goozey worked for the Carrabassett Valley Police Department for three months in 2010. He was fired for unrelated reasons.
