PORTLAND – Zander Majercik made 10 saves and Henry Cleaves scored late in the first half as Waynflete defeated Cape Elizabeth 1-0 Tuesday in a Western Maine Conference boys’ soccer game.

Cleaves took a back pass from his brother, William Cleaves, and scored the winner from 25 yards with four minutes left in the half for the Flyers (9-0-3).

The shutout was the seventh of the season for Majercik. Austin Andrews made five saves for the Capers (6-4-2).

SOUTH PORTLAND 2, THORNTON ACADEMY 0: Jack Lano scored in the first half and Akiba Davis added a second-half score as the Red Riots (8-2-2) downed Thornton Academy (4-6-2) at Saco.

PORTLAND 4, BONNY EAGLE 0: Alain Tuyishime scored two goals and the Bulldogs (9-1-2) shut out visiting Bonny Eagle (2-8).

Tuyishime had the only goal of the first half, set up by Tim Rovnak. Rovnak opened the scoring in the second half, assisted by Andrew Schwartz.

SACOPEE VALLEY 8, A.R. GOULD 0: Trey Watson had two goals and two assists as the Hawks (10-1-2) defeated the Bears (5-7) at South Portland.

Ryan Moulton and Ken Bouchey each added two goals and Eric Martineau and Jeff Taylor scored one each.

Goalie Eric Sawyer made seven saves for A.R. Gould.

TRAIP ACADEMY 7, WELLS 2: Ralph Humiston had two goals and Brandon Metevier, Colin Macomber, Mark Lambrecht, Devyn Childs and Caleb Kilgore each scored one to lead the Rangers (3-9) past the Warriors (1-10) at Kittery.

Sam LaPointe scored both goals for Wells.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 9, LAKE REGION 0: Milos Mijokov and Stefan Sjekloca each scored twice as the Raiders (7-5) routed the visiting Lakers (0-12).

Dakota Bush made seven saves for the Lakers.

KENNEBUNK 3, NOBLE 2: The Rams (5-4-3) built a 3-0 lead and held off the Knights (4-8) at North Berwick.

Robby Burns scored from Griffin Drigotas after four minutes. Mike Ottman made it 2-0 nine minutes later and scored again following a pass from Drigotas with 15 minutes left in the half.

Sean Jackson scored from Adam Neubert in the first half for the Knights and Jake Emard got the other goal from D.J. Cloutier with 19 minutes left in the game.

WINDHAM 6, SANFORD 0: Robbie Lentine had two goals to lead the visiting Eagles (10-2) to a win against the Redskins (2-9).

Bryan Soucy, Robbie Hamilton, Nathaniel Dubuc and Mark Reynolds also scored.

Bryce Lambert made 16 saves for Sanford.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 2, POLAND 1: Jake Street assisted Josh Kane for a first-half goal and scored with 7:13 left to give the visiting Patriots (5-7-1) a win over the Knights (2-10).

Alex Corcoran converted a penalty kick in the second half for Poland.

SCARBOROUGH 7, WESTBROOK 2: Sam Cekada, Jose Gonzalez Cantu and Austin Downing each had a pair of goals for the Red Storm (8-1-2) against the visiting Blue Blazes (2-8-2).

Owen Gillis and Joe Quinlan scored and Austin Watts stopped nine shots for Westbrook.

CHEVERUS 3, MASSABESIC 2: Elliot Maker had a goal and two assists to help Cheverus (7-2-1) get past Massabesic (1-9) at Waterboro.

Hunter Duncan gave the Mustangs the lead six minutes in. Maker tied the score eight minutes later. The Stags took a two-goal lead in the second period with goals from Nicholas Melville and Jim Campbell.

DEERING 1, MARSHWOOD 1: Austin Hale gave the Hawks (7-4-1) the lead with an unassisted goal in the first half and Brandon Saucier tied it midway through the second half for the Rams (4-6-1) at South Berwick.

GORHAM 8, BIDDEFORD 0: Jesse Orach scored three goals as Gorham (8-3) rolled past visiting Biddeford (0-10).

Carter Bowers scored twice and Alex McCarthy, Drew Hopkins and Mike Sullivan each had one goal.

HALL-DALE 2, WISCASSET 1: Zack McNaughton and Kevin Zembroski scored second-half goals as the Bulldogs (10-1-1) rallied past the Redskins (5-5-2) at Wiscasset.

Taylor Bryant scored to give Wiscasset a 1-0 lead early in the second half and Jason Weatherbee had six saves.
