LEWISTON — An investigator for the Maine Human Rights Commission says a social worker for a substance abuse clinic has reasonable grounds for her sexual harassment complaint against her former employer.
In 2009 Colleen Taylor of New Gloucester charged that the Center for Behavioral Health ME Inc., doing business as Discovery House in South Portland, fired her for reporting sexual harassment.
Her former employer operates addiction treatment centers in Maine and is subject to the Maine Human Rights Act and the Whistleblowers’ Protection Act.
In January 2009, Taylor filed a written complaint saying a supervisor was inappropriate and sexually harassed her co-workers. The supervisor was later fired.
The Sun Journal reports the center says Taylor was fired for not being a good fit, exhibiting “constant negativity” and disrupting business operations.
