YARMOUTH — Senior Dennis Irving carried 10 times for 115 yards and a touchdown in his first game as a running back Friday night as Yarmouth downed Telstar 47-6 in a Western Class C football game.

The Clippers (7-0) had nine players carry the ball against the Rebels (0-7). Matt Woodbury ran for 96 yards on 15 carries and scored twice. Caleb Uhl also scored twice, and Bart Gallagher and Brady Neujahr had one touchdown each.

Yarmouth, which led 41-6 at halftime, got second-half interceptions from Tommy Lord and John Beatty, who returned his for 38 yards.

LEAVITT 44, OCEANSIDE 14: Jordan Hersom ran for one touchdown and threw for another to help the Hornets (7-0) take a 36-0 halftime lead against the Mariners (2-5) at Rockland.

Dan Hendricks and Dan Stone had touchdown runs for Oceanside in the third quarter.

CAPE ELIZABETH 3, GREELY 1: Tim Lavallee scored the first of his two goals 14:51 into the second half to break a 1-1 tie and lift the Capers (7-4-2) over the Rangers (7-6-1) at Cape Elizabeth.

Omar Khalidi added a pair of assists and Charlie Laprade scored once for Cape Elizabeth. Ted Hart scored for Greely.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

MEDOMAK VALLEY 4, MT. VIEW 1: Alanna Vose scored four goals to lead Medomak Valley (7-5-1) over Mt. View (0-13) at Thorndike.

SANFORD 1, THORNTON ACADEMY 1: Emily Richard of Thornton Academy (10-1-2) and Kelly Tovey of Sanford (8-3-2) finished with 10 saves each at Saco.

Sanford took the lead after9:08 when Taylor Littlefield finished off a corner kick with a shot to the lower right corner.  Jamie Durie tied it 11:55 before halftime off a through pass from Camilla Olsson.

GORHAM 8, NOBLE 0: Erin Smith and Kiersten Turner scored two goals apiece to lead the Rams (12-0) past the Knights (4-9) at North Berwick.

Allie Lurvey, Meghan Cushing, Libby Andreasen and Audrey Adkison also scored. Sarah Perkins and Marissa Roberts combined for seven saves for the shutout.

WINDHAM 2, MASSABESIC 0: Jenna Soucy scored two goals in the first half to lead Windham (10-3) over Massabesic (4-6-2) at Waterboro.

Emily Gilman set up the first goal with a cross from the right side at 28:21. Five minutes later, Soucy scored again, this time off a cross from Lauren Shoemaker.

VOLLEYBALL

GORHAM 3, KENNEBUNK 0: Taylor Hansen recorded five kills and 11 rotation points, and Vicki Parker finished with six aces, 15 rotation points and three kills to lead visiting Gorham (7-7) over Kennebunk (5-9) in straight sets.

YARMOUTH 3, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 0: Lydia Ruetty had four kills and 10 service points for the Clippers (10-4), who completed the regular season by defeating the visiting Panthers (2-12) at Yarmouth.

SCARBOROUGH 3, BIDDEFORD 1: Brittany Bona collected 15 kills, 14 digs and five aces to lead the Red Storm (12-2) past the Tigers (9-5) in four sets at Scarborough.
