WESTBROOK – Katie Berry scored 6:43 into overtime to give sixth-ranked Westbrook a 1-0 win over 11th-ranked Kennebunk in a Western Class A field hockey prelim Saturday.

Berry converted a rebound off the goalie’s pads after a shot by Ally Lemay.

Maryssa Arsenault had three saves for Westbrook (11-4), which advanced to face No. 3 Cheverus in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Janelle Bouchard made five saves for Kennebunk (6-9).

WINDHAM 3, GORHAM 2: Molly McVetty scored her second goal of the game on an assist from Sarah Skvorak with 1:35 left in regulation as the eighth-seeded Eagles (6-7-2) edged the ninth-ranked Rams (5-8-2) in a Western Class A prelim at Windham.

Gorham pulled ahead 2-1 on a goal by Jaime Hansen two minutes into the second half. Skvorak scored the equalizer with 12:13 left.

Windham will visit top-ranked Scarborough for a quarterfinal on Wednesday.

LAKE REGION 4, YARMOUTH 0: Chelcie Murch and Monica Couvillion each scored in the first half and Lucy Fowler added a pair of second-half goals to lead the eighth-seeded Lakers (7-5-3) past the ninth-ranked Clippers (6-7-2) in a Western Class B prelim at Naples.

Shannon Van Loan made four saves to earn the shutout for Lake Region, which next meets No. 1 York on Wednesday.

Nicole Hickey finished with eight saves for Yarmouth.

MOUNTAIN VALLEY 4, WELLS 0: Becca Maifeld, Peyton Provencher, Nicole Burgess and Sam Glover scored as the seventh-seeded Falcons (9-4-2) downed the 10th-ranked Warriors (3-12) in a Western Class B prelim at Rumford.

Emily Gallant made six saves to record the shutout for Mountain Valley. Wells goalie Randi Albano finished with 11 saves.

Mountain Valley will face second-ranked Fryeburg in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.
