BALDWIN — Cumberland County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for two men who they believe were intent on burglarizing a home in Baldwin.

A woman who lives on Pequawket Trail spotted two men, wearing dark clothing and ski masks, at the edge of the woods near the house at 1:20 p.m. today. The homeowner called 911 and confronted the pair, who ran.

A neighbor saw the two run past his house carrying a dufflebag. No weapons were shown.

The Maine State Police dispatched an airplane, which was already airborne, to help deputies and other officers from other agencies, including the State Fire Marshal’s Office, search for the pair. They were not found but a vehicle was seen leaving the area and investigators want to talk to its occupants.

Police are looking for a maroon Dodge minivan with a front plate reading “Dodge” in yellow, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 774-1444, ext. 2118.
