SCARBOROUGH – Katelyn Tucker one-timed a pass from Sarah Skvorak in the third round of penalty corners Wednesday night as eighth-seeded Windham shocked top-ranked and unbeaten Scarborough 1-0 in a Western Class A field hockey quarterfinal.

Molly McVetty also earned an assist on the play.

Windham (7-7-2) will be on the road against the winner of today’s Marshwood-Massabesic game in the semifinals.

Andrea Feeney made 17 saves for Windham, which avenged a 2-0 regular-season loss to Scarborough on Oct. 1.

The Red Storm (13-1-1) used a stall tactic, passing the ball back and forth near midfield in an effort to lure the defense from the goal and tire any chasing defenders.

The Eagles preferred to compact their defense closer to the goal and wait for an opportunity to take control of the ball.

Midfielder Aleia Ansin helped keep the ball to the wings and away from the middle of the field, and flyer Colleen Holtan broke up several penalty-corner passes.

Shannon Hicks made two saves for Scarborough.
