PORTLAND BOXING CLUB: The Portland Boxing Club will host the USA Boxing New England Championships beginning Nov. 5. The tournament will start at 8 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Portland Boxing Club, 33 Allen Ave. The semifinals will be held at the club on Nov. 12 and the finals will be at the Stevens Avenue Armory at 8 p.m. Nov. 26.
Micky Ward will make an appearance at the finals.

SKIING
SUNDAY RIVER: Sunday River Resort opens for the 2011-2012 winter season today at 10 a.m. A free lift ticket will be given to anyone who comes dressed in costume on Halloween.
