CALAIS — A panel studying reforms to Maine’s Land Use Regulation Commission will hold its latest meeting in Calais.
The LURC Reform Commission will hold a work session on Thursday at Washington County Community College.
The study panel was established by the Maine Legislature earlier this year following proposals to abolish or reform LURC, which regulates development in Maine’s Unorganized Territory.
The meeting’s agenda includes two discussions. One will be on the increasing the role of county government in land use planning, and the other will focus on reform recommendations from the perspective of large landowners.
The 13-member commission so far has held three meetings and future meetings still are being scheduled.
