WATERVILLE — Ian Leitch bulled to the goal line on fourth down late in the third period, helping Colby to a 20-10 football win over Tufts on Saturday.

Colby (3-4) went 11 plays and drove 84 yards on the winning drive, including an 8-yard run by Spencer Gopaul to the Tufts 1. The Mules tried two straight running plays on second and third downs for no gain. Following a timeout, Leitch rushed into the line from his fullback position and, after a delay by the officials to ascertain that he had crossed the line, Colby led 13-7.

Nick Kmetz added an 11-yard scoring run, his second touchdown of the game, in the fourth quarter.

Tufts is 0-7.

BATES 24, BOWDOIN 2: Patrick George ran for three touchdowns and Trevor Smith completed 11 of 20 passes for 146 yards, including a 23-yard touchdown pass to John Squires, to get the Bobcats (3-4) a victory over the Polar Bears (3-4) at Lewiston.

COAST GUARD 52, MAINE MARITIME 15: Running back Tyler Hames piled up 219 total yards and a score, and Jarrod Owens passed for 334 yards and four touchdowns as the Bears (2-7, 2-5 NEFC) beat the Mariners (4-5, 2-5) at Castine.

CASTLETON 40, HUSSON 20: Shane Brozowski threw for three touchdowns as the Spartans (4-5, 3-3 NEFC) beat the visiting Eagles (0-9, 0-6).

VILLANOVA 35, UMASS 17: Chris Polony threw for three touchdowns as the Wildcats (2-8, 1-6 Colonial Athletic Association) beat the Minutemen (5-4, 3-3) at Amherst, Mass.

LEHIGH 14, HOLY CROSS 7: Matt Fitz rushed for two TDs as the Mountain Hawks (8-1, 4-0 Patriot League) controlled the clock in beating the Crusaders (4-5, 2-2) at Bethlehem, Pa.

UNH 28, JAMES MADISON 10: Dontra Peters scored two touchdowns as the Wildcats (7-2, 5-1 Colonial Athletic Association) beat the Dukes (5-4, 3-3) at Durham, N.H.

BROWN 34, YALE 28: Mark Kachmer and Kyle Newhall-Caballero combined for six touchdowns as the Bears (7-1, 5-0 Ivy League) beat the Elis (3-2, 4-4) at New Haven, Conn.

UCONN 28, SYRACUSE 21: QB Scott McCummings ran for two touchdowns, and Lyle McCombs added 152 yards rushing and a score to lead the Huskies (4-5, 2-2 Big East) over the visiting Orange (5-4, 1-3).

RHODE ISLAND 24, WILLIAM & MARY 21: Louis Feinstein kicked a 27-yard field goal with 1:39 left as the Rams (3-6, 2-4 CAA) came from behind to beat the Tribe (4-5, 2-4) at Kingston, R.I.
