BANGOR — City officials have told protesters with the Occupy Bangor movement they have overstayed their welcome in a city park.

City Manager Cathy Conlow says the protesters have been asked to remove canopies, structures and other items from Peirce Park by 10 p.m. Thursday. She says many of the structures are being used as storage areas, an “inappropriate” use of the park.

She tells the Bangor Daily News anything not removed by the protesters will be taken away by city workers and stored.

A spokeswoman for the protesters says they “intend to defend Occupy Bangor.”
